6-Barrel Pepper-Box Revolver, England 1840
Dimensions: 22.5 cm
Weight: 968 g
Reproduction of a 6-barrel pepper-box pistol made of metal and wooden grips, with a firing mechanism and revolving barrel.
A pepperbox pistol, or simply a pepperbox (also "pepper-pot" due to its resemblance to a household pepper grinder), is a multi-barrel, repeating firearm with three or more barrels grouped around a central axis.
It mostly appears in the form of a multi-shot handheld firearm. Pepperboxes are available in all ammunition systems: matchlock, wheelock, flintlock, percussion, pinfire, rimfire, and centerfire.
The pepperbox was invented in the 1830s and was primarily aimed at the civilian market. Its use spread rapidly and it was popular in the United States from the 1830s until the Civil War.
A unique and special piece that every collector would love to own.
